Krishna’s Birth
Long ago, in the Dwapara Yuga, there was a cruel king named Kansa (or Kamsa). A prophecy said that Devaki’s eighth child would one day kill him. Terrified, the king imprisoned his sister, Devaki, and Vasudeva, demanding that they give him every child they had.
But when Krishna was born, something magical happened. It was a dark night in the month of Shravan, and it was raining heavily. The prison doors opened automatically, the chains broke, and all of Kansa’s guards fell asleep.
Vasudeva gently placed baby Krishna in a basket and carried him into the dark night. As they crossed the Yamuna River, the river gave way, and the great serpent Sheshnag spread his hood to protect the child from the rain.
Krishna safely reached Gokul, where he grew up with Yashoda and Nanda.
Lesson: Even in the darkest times, hope always finds a way.

Krishna and Putana
Kansa was so afraid of death that he wanted to prevent the prophecy from coming true.
He sent a demoness named Putana to Gokul. Disguised as a kind woman, she tried to feed poison to little Krishna. But Krishna was not afraid.
Instead of being harmed, he defeated Putana and freed her from a life of evil. The people of Gokul were amazed that such a young child had protected everyone.
Lesson: Goodness is always stronger than evil.
Krishna Defeats Shakatasura
Kansa did not stop; he sent the next demon, Shakatasura.
It was a festival in Gokul; little Krishna was resting under a large wooden cart. The demon hid inside the cart, planning to crush the child with it.
Playfully, he kicked the cart with his tiny feet. To everyone’s surprise, the heavy cart overturned, shattered into pieces, and the demon hiding inside was destroyed instantly. The villagers were amazed, while Mother Yashoda thanked God for protecting her child.
Lesson: Innocence holds great power—sometimes greater than any force in the world.

Krishna Shows the Universe in his Mouth
One afternoon, Krishna was playing with his friends. Suddenly, they rushed to Yashoda and said, “Mother Yashoda, Krishna has eaten mud.”
She ran towards him and asked him to open his mouth. Krishna obeyed.
But instead of mud, she stood surprised on seeing the sky, stars, planets, rivers, mountains, and the entire universe in his mouth.
For a moment, she realized her little son was no ordinary child. Then, as soon as she saw that sight, everything became normal again. She hugged Krishna tightly, forgetting everything she had just seen.
Lesson: Sometimes the greatest wonders are hidden in the smallest things.
Krishna and Kaliya
Once the Yanuma River turned poisonous, a snake named Kaliya lived in it.
Krishna was playing on the riverbank with his friends. Noticing a strange movement in the water, Krishna jumped into the river.
The Kaliya naag emerged with its many hissing heads; a great battle was held between them. Finally, Krishna climbed onto his head and began to dance.
The snake surrendered. Krishna forgave him and asked him to leave the river peacefully.
Lesson: Real strength comes with forgiveness.
